Our Staff

Second to our preschoolers, our staff is our greatest gift.  Medina Weekday employs teachers of the highest integrity who care for and teach young children with passion.  Love and compassion for young children is a priority.

Medina Weekday's Director is a comprehensive member of The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), The Ohio Association for the Education of Young Children (OAEYC) and The Akron Association for the Education of Young Children (AAEYC).

Our lead teachers have higher education degrees in the areas of Education and Child Development.  Teachers also receive training in the areas of communicable diseases, child abuse recognition, CPR and first aid training.  Staff also attend two in-services annually including areas such as professional development and early childhood education.  The OAEYC Conference is also attended by staff and director to stay abreast of new developments and trends.

Trained staff provides individual guidance in an environment that encourages children to explore, experiment and discover their own creative potential, while learning responsible decision-making.  Our teachers prepare a wide variety of activities for children that are included in a theme-based curriculum aligned with The Ohio Department of Education's Early Learning Standards.  A child is free to explore and discover their own individual pace under the supervision of a lead and assistant teacher.

Teachers offer home visits to each family to meet the child before school begins.  The staff works from a TEAM approach, meeting monthly with their team to discuss curriculum, share ideas and brainstorm.

Teachers have a great deal of longevity at Medina Weekday, which says....

Teachers who come to teach here stay here.
